Squish with Kate Hodgson – Bootle Session
For this special Squish session, join artist and printmaker Kate Hodgson to explore different print processes including screen printing. Adults and their little ones can try out these different techniques and explore messy mark making together, creating a card to take home after.
Squish is a sensory play session for toddlers in Bootle and Netherton libraries. Squish is about giving children and carers access to the unique happiness and stimulation that creativity can bring, creating a space with our sessions where babies can feel safe to grow.
We advocate for slow, sustainable play and use household sensory materials such as homemade playdough to squish, cardboard boxes to hide in and coloured rice to shake. Through sensory play, young children can develop fine motor skills, language development and non-verbal communication, as well as engaging their tiny imaginations.
