Founded in 1997 by trained breastfeeding supporters, The Breastfeeding Network offer independent, evidence-based information and support to help build awareness of breastfeeding to individuals and organisations and to support a parent in their choice to breastfeed. Every year getting closer to achieving their vision of a society where mums, parents and families are able to make informed decisions about breastfeeding, to access help when they need it and to become confident in their choices.
With Department of Health funding, BfN launched The National Breastfeeding Helpline in 2008, resulting in over 500,000 mums and parents receiving support through the helpline.
At the Governments request, BfN, in partnership with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) are delighted to announce the launch of a night-time service. Becoming a 24/7 service enables the National Breastfeeding Helpline, to provide friendly, non-judgemental, independent, evidence based breastfeeding support and information round -the-clock to anyone in the UK who needs it, whether it is mothers wanting to know their options or partners and family members wondering how to best provide support.
With responders all being mothers with breastfeeding experience at a variety of levels and additional support training, have no fear or embarrassment about your queries no matter how big or small, The Breastfeeding Network understand how daunting and intimate the breastfeeding path can be, so regardless of where you are at in your journey, allow the breastfeeding helpline to support you through this beautiful yet difficult chapter of parenthood.
