Explore the programme below and join us in celebrating Baby Week 2026.

Baby Week 2026 is a national programme celebrating babies, young children, and the vital role of early experiences in shaping lifelong outcomes. Taking place locally from 14th–20th November 2026, this year’s theme, The Story of Babies, connects with the National Year of Reading, highlighting the importance of early language, storytelling, and reading from birth. Locally, Baby Week will bring families together across Family Hubs, libraries, and community spaces to enjoy a wide range of free, interactive activities designed for families from pregnancy through to age five.

In this area, Baby Week is built on strong partnerships between Family Hubs, North Halifax Partnership, HEYS, Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, and a range of voluntary and community organisations. Families can expect storytelling walks, baby and family story sessions, book swaps, dad-focused activities, and interactive events led by practitioners, authors, and early years specialists. A key highlight includes a practitioner and volunteer event at Eureka on 16th November, alongside weekend family events on 14th – 15th November. With a strong focus on inclusion and early communication, Baby Week locally aims to celebrate families, strengthen early bonds, and inspire a love of reading from the very start.

10,000 attendees

Over the last decade, Baby Week UK has expanded across England, helping thousands of parents, carers, professionals, and community members connect, learn, and access support. By showcasing free and low-cost services, activities, and opportunities, Baby Week aims to reduce barriers and improve awareness of the support available for families with children under five. Here are just a few reflections from attendees on the difference Baby Week has made.

“Baby week is an absolutely fantastic initiative in out city it bought together professionals from across the sector and gave families time to chat, learn and share their experiences of parenthood. Over 200 attendees at one of our launch event and using a city centre location and offering lots of activities for the age range (0-5) worked well.”
