Baby Week is one of the UK’s largest celebration of babies, young children and their families. Taking place across a growing number of towns, cities and regions, Baby Week brings together local authorities, health services, family hubs, early years settings, libraries, community organisations, leisure centres, charities and businesses to champion the importance of giving every child the best start in life.

Baby Week aims to make the UK the best place to grow up by celebrating the services that support families and promoting the best start in life for every baby and young child. Launched in Leeds in 2016, Baby Week now takes place in 24 localities across the UK with partner cities and counties going one step further to bring sectors together, reduce barriers to access and promote the best start.
This year’s theme, Chat, Play, Read with Me: Together We Build the Best Start, shines a light on the simple, everyday interactions that help babies and young children learn, communicate and thrive.
The Baby Week 2026 Communications Pack has been designed to help you make the most of Baby Week and build understanding of why the earliest years matter. It includes key messages, campaign assets and practical resources to support your involvement.
