Explore the programme below and join us in celebrating Baby Week 2026.

After the success of our first ever baby week last year – Cumberland are excited to expand and improve our baby week offer for 2026!

We are looking forward to having you with us to join Baby Week in November for a celebration of early childhood and parenting across our wonderful, diverse communities. Our Family Hubs are welcoming more and more families each week to antenatal, baby and toddler groups and this year we are working closely with our libraries as we explore the theme “chat, play, read with us.”

Baby Week will give you an opportunity to find out more about the programmes on offer in Family Hubs aimed at families of under 5’s, as well as what other organisations in our amazing communities have to offer. We look forward to welcoming you to one of the many activities that will be on offer, because we know that every baby in Cumberland deserves the best start in life – and we want every parent and family member to feel fully supported in your parenting journey

10,000 attendees

Over the last decade, Baby Week UK has expanded across England, helping thousands of parents, carers, professionals, and community members connect, learn, and access support. By showcasing free and low-cost services, activities, and opportunities, Baby Week aims to reduce barriers and improve awareness of the support available for families with children under five. Here are just a few reflections from attendees on the difference Baby Week has made.

“Baby week is an absolutely fantastic initiative in out city it bought together professionals from across the sector and gave families time to chat, learn and share their experiences of parenthood. Over 200 attendees at one of our launch event and using a city centre location and offering lots of activities for the age range (0-5) worked well.”

“It’s a fantastic way to bring communities together to learn how to offer support to your child in everyday life”
