Explore the programme below and join us in celebrating Baby Week 2026.

Baby Week is a national programme and registered UK charity that brings communities together to celebrate babies, families, and the vital importance of the earliest years. Established in 2016 and now delivered across multiple regions, it aims to raise awareness of early childhood development, promote the best start in life, and shine a spotlight on the services and support available during pregnancy and the first years. During Baby Week, families can expect a wide range of local activities and events, including parent and baby groups, health and wellbeing sessions, play opportunities, and information from trusted professionals, many of which are free and designed to be accessible and welcoming. It is for expectant parents and families with babies and young children, from pregnancy through to those who are beginning to walk, ensuring support right from the earliest stages.

Locally, Baby Week reflects the strengths of the community, with Family Hubs, health services, early years providers, and voluntary organisations working in partnership to deliver a coordinated and supportive offer. In East Riding, this includes a strong focus on the first 1001 days, early communication, and building positive parent–infant relationships, alongside creating opportunities for families to connect, learn, and feel part of their local community.

10,000 attendees

Over the last decade, Baby Week UK has expanded across England, helping thousands of parents, carers, professionals, and community members connect, learn, and access support. By showcasing free and low-cost services, activities, and opportunities, Baby Week aims to reduce barriers and improve awareness of the support available for families with children under five. Here are just a few reflections from attendees on the difference Baby Week has made.

“Baby week is an absolutely fantastic initiative in out city it bought together professionals from across the sector and gave families time to chat, learn and share their experiences of parenthood. Over 200 attendees at one of our launch event and using a city centre location and offering lots of activities for the age range (0-5) worked well.”
