Welcome to Baby Week Lancashire 2026

Looking for fun, free things to do with your child? Join us for a week of stories, songs and play for children aged 0-5 at Libraries and Family Hubs across Lancashire.

Baby Week is a national celebration of babies, young children and the people who care for them. Local services are working together to help you discover activities, advice and support close to home. We know that everyday moments make a big difference:

  • Chat builds connections
  • Play builds brains
  • Read builds futures

Whether you’ve just welcomed a baby, are caring for a toddler or supporting a preschool child, Baby Week is a chance to spend time together, try something new and connect with other local families. Throughout the week, families can enjoy songs and rhymes, story sessions, messy and sensory play, music and movement, stay and play sessions, feeding and baby support, and opportunities to meet other parents and carers. Come as you are and join in as much or as little as you like. Your child can play, explore and have fun while you enjoy time together.

10,000 attendees

Over the last decade, Baby Week UK has expanded across England, helping thousands of parents, carers, professionals, and community members connect, learn, and access support. By showcasing free and low-cost services, activities, and opportunities, Baby Week aims to reduce barriers and improve awareness of the support available for families with children under five. Here are just a few reflections from attendees on the difference Baby Week has made.

“Baby week is an absolutely fantastic initiative in out city it bought together professionals from across the sector and gave families time to chat, learn and share their experiences of parenthood. Over 200 attendees at one of our launch event and using a city centre location and offering lots of activities for the age range (0-5) worked well.”

– Baby Week Regional Organiser

“It’s a fantastic way to bring communities together to learn how to offer support to your child in everyday life”
