This theme shines a light on the simple, everyday moments that help babies and young children learn, communicate and thrive. Whether it’s sharing a book, chatting during nappy changes, exploring playful spaces, or enjoying sensory activities, these early interactions lay the foundations for lifelong learning.

Throughout Baby Week, partners across the UK will come together to celebrate the power of play, talking, reading and connection. Families will be invited to try one new thing, discover local services, enjoy free and low‑cost activities, and build confidence in supporting their child’s early development.

Chat, Play, Read With Me also aligns with the Best Start in Life approach, the growing focus on speech, language and communication, and the National Year of Reading. Together, we can create stronger foundations for every baby, every family, and every community.

Behind the scenes, partners across the country are busy adding events, activities and resources to the Baby Week website. From family play sessions and story times to professional learning opportunities and community events, there’s something for everyone.

Each location will have it’s own page and events calendar going live on 20 September and we’re aiming for our full Baby Week event calendar to be live next month, so keep an eye on our channels for updates.
