From Leeds to nationwide—uniting communities for the best start in life
This year marks 10 years of Baby Week – a movement that began in Leeds in 2016, inspired by UNICEF’s Semana do Bebê in Brazil, and has now grown across the UK. For a decade, Baby Week has championed the early years (pregnancy to age five) as the foundation of lifelong health, learning and wellbeing. Our 2025 theme is Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby – because children thrive when parents are supported. This year’s events will highlight wellbeing, nourishment, play, movement and thriving communities.
Where is baby week?
Welcoming new regions
We’re thrilled to see more regions join the Baby Week family in 2025:
• Cambridgeshire & Peterborough – From baby raves to first aid workshops, families can look forward to playful, practical sessions that support bonding and wellbeing.
• Gateshead, Cumberland & Nottingham – Hosting there very first Baby Week with workshops, talks and activities for parents and little ones, highlighting the power of connection in the early years.
EXISTING PARTNER LOCATIONS
These regions join our amazing existing partners across Leeds, Bradford, Buckinghamshire, Calderdale, Coventry, Cheshire & Merseyside, Durham, Hull, Newcastle, Nottinghamshire, Sunderland and Torbay. We have previously seen Baby Week celebrated in Redcar & Cleveland, Wolverhampton and York but they are currently on pause and we hope to see them back for their celebrations. This partnership is creating a true national celebration of babies and families.
Here’s to 10 years of celebrating families, and to dancing, playing, and learning together in 2025 and beyond!
This year, Baby Week unites with BookTrust, NSPCC, the NHS, local authorities, and many more. We’re also proud to welcome the National Energy Foundation as key sponsor — because safe, warm, energy-efficient homes help families thrive.
⸻
For me, success in Baby Week isn’t just the number of events — it’s the moments: parents discovering support, babies laughing together, and communities uniting. Those little sparks are what make Baby Week so special.
“So many mums to talk to, would not have gone if it weren’t for the baby week timetable I didn’t even know there was a stay a play session. Baby week has made me more confident in coming to sessions now. I’ve booked others too. Kids loved them as well which was the best part.”
